Ross Turnbull
Executive Chef

A native of Canada, Chef Ross Turnbull achieved success in the culinary arena at the young age of 23, being in charge of his first professional kitchen. Trained by the finest chefs in Europe, he attended one of the world’s most prestigious hotel schools and completed a three year European culinary apprenticeship.

Classically trained in French cuisine, Chef Turnbull has a simple philosophy, "Food should be an exciting passionate experience involving all the senses."

Chef Turnbull has worked in some of the most well-known five star hotels including: Chateau Lake Louise, The Banff Springs Hotel and The Palliser Hotel. His culinary creations have been featured on various TV shows, including “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous”. His travels have also taken him to culinary Hot Spots including Paris, Toronto, Tokyo, Boston and now Hawaii. A gold medal winner in numerous culinary competitions, Chef Turnbull holds Canada’s highest culinary designation.

His arrival to the United States in 2000 placed him as the Executive Sous Chef at The Westin Copley Place.  He was then promoted to Executive Chef at The Westin Waltham Boston and Executive Chef at The Westin Providence. He was quickly recognized as a leader in the industry for elegant artistic presentations.

Chef Turnbull is one of the most respected and creative Executive Chefs in the Starwood family. His passion for perfection in technique, utilizing only the freshest of ingredients, is a guiding influence in his cooking today. Chef Turnbull’s goal is simply to create a five-star dining experience, focusing on elegant seasonal cuisine with a distinctive flair.
