PRINCEVILLE RESORT CAPTURES THE ESSENCE OF HAWAI'I WITH SENSORY GUEST ROOM EXPERIENCE
Princeville, Kauai, HI, July 26, 2005- The luxurious Princeville Resort has developed a customized Hawaiian Sensory Room Experience that enhances smell, sight, touch, sound and taste to create a harmonious environment. The hotel has partnered with sensory experience experts in fragrance, music and technology to capture a dream Hawaiian luxury vacation.
Hawaii's premiere fragrance experts, Malie Kauai and Princeville Resort has unveiled an in-room aromatherapy program. For this partnership, the Princeville Resort and Malie Kauai engages guests with Princeville's signature scent, The Maile Mist, a fresh, clean fragrance derived from the Maile vine which is indigenous to Hawaii. To enhance an in-room spa experience a line of Maile bath products are in development.
Maile is the oldest and most traditional Hawaiian flower lei. The Maile lei is given at special events, weddings and graduations. Maile was originally associated with the worship of Laka, the Hawaiian Goddess of Hula, and was offered with other native plants when Hula was performed.
The Maile aromatherapy fragrance is provided in each Princeville guest room and can be used as a linen spray and ambience enhancer.
The resort has also partnered with Sony Hawaii to create a signature In Room CD of contemporary and traditional Hawaiian music. To ensure that the CD cover blended with the interior décor, a Kauai artist was commissioned to paint original artwork. Both products are available for purchase.
The Princeville Resort also features a unique one-of a kind privacy window in each room which turns from opaque to clear with a flip of a switch. Made by laminating liquid crystal film between two sheets of glass, when electricity is applied the glass appears clear to see the surrounding view.
In-room dining will also be elevated to experiential with the introduction of the TASTE menu coming this Fall. Menu items will incorporate flavorful fresh island produce, seafood and Hawaiian taro.
The sensory room experience is a unique distinction of the Princeville Resort, stated Kelly Hoen, general manager. From the first moment a guest arrives to their room and looks out to the magnificence of Hanalei Bay they are embraced by ike I ka wahi, a sense of place that celebrates the sensory experiences of Hawaii.
Located on the exclusive north shore of Kauai, the hotel is the focal point of Princeville in its setting of diverse natural beauty. Elegantly appointed, it offers 201 spacious guest rooms and 51 suites. From this oceanside retreat explore world-class golf, ride horseback or kayak along a Hawaiian river.
